This word is just out from the KC Star, that Wizards midfielder, Stephane Auvray will be missing 10-14 days as he is having arthroscopic knee surgery on his right knee. Auvray had missed last week's 2-2 draw with Chicago due to knee pain and will now look to remedy it with a quick surgery. If he has the surgery tomorrow, and it does take 10 to 14 days for him to return than he's only likely to miss the Columbus and Salt Lake games. If it takes longer for him to come back, he could also miss the Toronto game on June 5th. Hopefully he's not out for long as his presence in the center of midfield has helped take some pressure off the back line.
In other minor KC related news, things aren't looking so good across the state of Missouri. AC St. Louis, who the Wizards had started to try to form a rivalry with appears to be in some major financial trouble. Basically it appears that Jeff Cooper, who had been behind St. Louis' MLS bid, and his other investors for AC St. Louis and St. Louis Athletica are struggling with money issues and both teams may not be able to make it through the season. It would be a sad ending for St. Louis fans and the potential rivalry. In a way it does vindicate Don Garber and his decision not to award Cooper a franchise, if he's struggling to make it through 1 season having both a division 2 men's team and a women's team, he likely didn't have the capital to survive in MLS.
