The Wizards have to qualify once again to get into the US Open Cup proper this year. We found out about a month ago that the Wizards won the right to host the Colorado Rapids for the first play in game. Today the date and location of the game was announced. The Wizards will take on Colorado on Tuesday April 13th at Stanley H. Durwood Soccer Stadium on the campus of UMKC at 7:30 pm. The game will take place 3 days after the Rapids and Wizards get together in a league game out Community America. This would seem to make things easier for Colorado who could now just stay in KC, train on Monday before the game on Tuesday.
Durwood Stadium is a nice urban setting for a soccer game - very intimate setting with less than 1000 seats.
