Tomorrow at the Chiefs indoor training facility, the Wizards preseason starts for the 2010 season. And while most of the team will be showing up, the team is reporting that 3 players from last years team will not be there. Kei Kamara, Claudio Lopez, and Kevin Hartman are all still without a contract and while they are still negotiating with the league, they are not in KC for camp. Word is that Kamara is in Germany for a trial with Greuther Fürth of the German 2nd division. Last we heard on Lopez was that he was still in Argentina, and Hartman was training with the US team out in California and it seems likely if he's not with KC he's still out in California.
As for the rest of preseason, the Wizards announcement today says that after training in KC, the team will head to Arizona for more training. Unlike last year, no trip to Florida, where the team has gone for quite a few years. The team will apparently spend most of the month training down in Arizona. Whether they make another trip abroad has not been announced yet.
How likely is it that Lopez is back next season?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what the likelihood it, the team has publicly said they want him back, but with Espinoza and the left sided attacker we signed, it appears it could be less likely.
