The Wizards now know their opponent in the 3rd round of the US Open Cup. Tonight, the Minnesota Thunder defeated the Chicago Fire PDL team 4-0 tonight in Blaine, MN, setting up a 3rd round match up on June 30th at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN. The game will kickoff at 7:05pm central time. The game will come 2 days after the Wizards play their last game of SuperLiga in KC against Santos Laguna.
This will be the second time the Wizards have seen the Thunder this season, as the two met in the Wizards final preseason game of the season up in Cedar Rapids, IA. This will be the first competitive game these two teams have played against each other since the Thunder's 3-1 win in the 2005 US Open Cup, so the Wizards will have a chance at revenge this year.
