Carlos Marinelli hasn't appeared for the Wizards since coming off at halftime of the Wizards 4-2 win over the Carolina Railhawks in the US Open Cup. Since then, he hasn't been around, hasn't appeared on the bench, and from reports hasn't even been at practice. Thad Bell over at The Back Post is now reporting that Marinelli is not even in the country.
To answer Thad, I don't think we've seen the end, but I certainly think that we are close to the end. Marinelli just can't stay healthy. He's not worth the money he's making if he continues to spend most of his time on the training table. We're now starting to see more and more the injury problems that have plagued him his entire career. I don't expect him to be back with KC next season, Onalfo just can't rely on him to be healthy enough to make a difference in the team.
Marinelli? Still not at practice and it is my understanding that he is not even in the country at this point. The official “off the record” statement was that he is at home taking care of some personal issues and getting treatment for his injury. Have we seen the last of him also?
