There hasn't been a whole lot of news the past few days on the possible transfer of Eddie Johnson. Today, though, we get two rumors of Johnson's move to Derby County. The first is an article from the Times Online. The article talks about the recent moves Derby has made for Robbie Savage, Hossam Ghaly, Laurent Robert, and Danny Mills. After talking about each of the players, the article discusses Paul Jewell's continued interest in Johnson. The article brings up the same facts that we've heard before, that Derby is ready to break the bank and set a new MLS transfer record to land Johnson, who the team had chased in January.
The BBC in their rumor section also mentions the continued interest in Johnson from Derby. The rumor originates from the Daily Mail.
I still don't think this is a great move for Johnson. Even with the additions of Savage, Ghaly, and Robert in the midfield, I don't think Johnson is going to get the service he needs to be effective in England. Although I feel better then I did before those additions.
