Wizards defender, Matt Groenwald, and the Wizards have come to
terms on his release from the team, and a buyout of his contract. Groenwald has been out all season due to blood clots. Groenwald has apparently decided to call it a career playing soccer, and focus not only on getting his masters finished up, but to concentrate on raise his daughter and starting a family.
I honestly can't blame him one bit for it either, blood clots are a tricky thing to come back from, and with a new daughter and new family starting I think Groenwald made probably the right move. Good luck to Matt in all his future endeavors.
